Any citizen who applies for a permit and is denied should be allowed to appeal the decision in a binding manner. Any legislation that Iowa Carry supports will provide for an appeals process that is binding on the Sheriff and the citizen alike.
We fully appreciate the fact that a Sheriff may find a reason to deny an application and decide to not issue a permit. We also firmly believe that it is a cornerstone of our government and our rights that any denied citizen has the ability to appeal that decision.
