New Forum Layout and Permissions Options

Effective immediately, the forums have been changed with a new layout and new permissions policies.

Iowa Carry's Mission

This group of forums is open to all registered members of the Iowa Carry forums. You do not need to be a supporting member to post in this group.

General Discussions

This group of forums is able to be read by all registered members. However, you must be a supporting member of Iowa Carry in order to post a new topic or add to an existing topic.

Supporting Members Lounge

This group of forums is available only to supporting members of Iowa Carry.

Boardroom

Forums that are used by the leadership of Iowa Carry and the forums are maintained in this category.

The Briefing Room will be retired over time. All of the information in there will be placed into a library on the main website.

Also, a moderation system will be put in place. All non-supporting members will have their posts moderated for a minimum of 25 postings, while supporting members will have their posts moderated for a minimum of 10 postings. This is being done to ensure that we do not have posts placed in the forums that do not reflect properly on Iowa Carry or our mission, and to help newcomers to the forum system understand how the forums work and to ensure that their posts are placed in a topical area.

Many of our registered (but non-supporting) members may feel that we are slighting them by going to this system and tightening the forums somewhat. The Iowa Carry leadership felt that these changes were necessary in order to maintain a set of topical discussion forums; to give our supporting members more of a bonus for supporting the group; and to limit the amount of liability that the discussion forums have on Iowa Carry as an organization.

I apologize in advance for any glitches that may pop up along the way as we enable this new system. Please be patient, and any problems that are discovered and reported will be fixed as soon as possible.
