2011 IFC / NRA Rally a Huge Success!
July 27, 2011 -- Despite balmy conditions, and periodic rainy weather, the 2nd Annual IFC/NRA 2nd Amendment Rally was a huge success thanks to you! We had over 1,000 people attend this years event which was held at Brownells Big Spring Shooting Complex near Searsboro, Iowa. It turned out to be a great day of shooting firearms at the range, eating great food and, most importantly, engaging in the grassroots efforts that helped these organizations bring Shall Issue to Iowa! Those same organizations will continue to bring more victories in the future!
A special thanks to our outgoing President, Sean McClanahan, for all of his efforts. He presided over the organization through a landmark victory for firearms rights in Iowa. Sean will continue to play an important role with IFC going forward, but please be sure to send him a personal thank you for his work as President! (seanm@iowafc.org)
As incoming President, I must thank you, the membership, for your eagerness to stay up to date on issues and for being ready to act whenever we need to communicate to our legislators. We want to continue to grow this organization and continue to be the primary force in Iowa for advancing 2nd Amendment issues at the Capitol.
Special guest Simon Conway of WHO radio was gracious enough to emcee the event. Simon did a great job introducing the speakers for us and also reminding us of theprinciples upon which this country was founded!
Pete Brownell, to whom we want to give special thanks as well, was present and spoke at our event. Be sure to thank Pete and his hardworking Brownells' staff by supporting their businesses. We are indeed fortunate and grateful to be offered the use of such a great facility!
