NRA Affiliation
Iowa Firearms Coalition is proud to have earned official affiliate status with the NRA due to our successful endeavor to make Iowa a Shall Issue state. Effective Jan 1st, 2011 all Iowans will be able to take advantage of the right to carry weapons without discriminatory, inconsistent limitations that were exercised by a handful of Iowa Sheriff's.
In 2010, after the bill was signed into law by Governor Chet Culver, Iowa Carry became Iowa Firearms Coalition to reflect the success of the organization and its new focus on broader Second Amendment issues in Iowa going forward. Later that year Iowa Firearms Coalition was also awarded the Jay M. Littlefield NRA-ILA Memorial Volunteer Organization of the Year Award. Shortly thereafter, Iowa Firearms Coalition was also awarded the prestigious honor being an official NRA Affiliate Club.
This proud partnership between Iowa Firearms Coalition and the NRA establish a firm foundation to continue to defend Iowan's Second Amendment, God-given rights.
